Dat Ole Land 2
The yellow Elbe ferry between the Altes Land and Wedel — a three-zone layout, bicycle transport, built for tide and wind.
Since 2012 the Dat Ole Land 2 has connected the Altes Land with Wedel as a ferry — across the Lower Elbe, in the tidal stream and in all weathers. At 35 metres long, she takes up to 250 passengers, plus bicycles for cyclists touring the orchard country.
The three-zone layout separates the interior, the covered deck and the open deck. Video surveillance, wide access ways and a hull with a draught of 1.45 metres are designed for ferry operation on the Elbe.
Her yellow livery has made her a landmark of the Lühe-Schulau-Fähre — built in Derben and delivered downstream on the Elbe to her area of operation.
