Lead vessel “Emmerich” (2020) and five sister ships — a series for the authorities on the Rhine, robust and easy to service.
The Emmerich class is a series of identical work and inspection vessels for the waterways and shipping authorities on the Rhine. The lead vessel “Emmerich” — hull number 213, delivered in 2020 — was followed by the sister ships Neuss, Xanten, Köln, Homberg and Bonn (hull numbers 246 to 250).
33.30 metres long, 7.40 metres wide, 1.20 metres draught: laid out for a river with its currents and water levels. A well thought-out working deck, a crane and the equipment that day-to-day operation of the district offices demands — from buoy maintenance to inspection duties.
The entire steelwork was carried out under cover in our halls in Derben, right through to the finished preservation coating — the reason these vessels last for decades.
