J. Hobrecht
A work catamaran whose solar roof supplies the electric propulsion — quiet, emission-free and self-sufficient.
We delivered the J. Hobrecht in 2022 as hull number 239 to the Senate Department for the Environment, Transport and Climate Protection in Berlin. The compact work catamaran is built for inner-city duty on the waters of Berlin — around 14 metres long, 4.35 metres wide, with a draught of 90 centimetres.
Its solar roof supplies the electric propulsion: the vessel works quietly, without exhaust fumes and largely independently of shore power. The catamaran hull form gives it a stable working platform at shallow draught.
Named after the Berlin city planner James Hobrecht, she works on the Elbe-Havel canal among other waters — and is an example of emission-free propulsion working in everyday operation.
