MS Schwielowsee
One of the first hybrid passenger vessels in Germany — awarded the Inland Navigation Innovation Award in 2019.
The MS Schwielowsee carries up to 250 guests on the lakes and waterways around Potsdam and Berlin. She is driven by two electric motors of 120 kW each, fed from lithium-ion batteries that are charged from shore with green electricity. On longer trips, generators take over that run on a synthetic, lower-emission fuel.
Barrier-free access, bicycle transport and a saloon for year-round operation are part of the equipment. Schiffswerft Bolle received the Inland Navigation Innovation Award in 2019 for the development and construction of the MS Schwielowsee.
The vessel stands for our path towards quieter, cleaner passenger shipping — and for the experience that has gone into every hybrid and electric propulsion system from Derben ever since.
