Wassertaxi 3
The yellow water taxi with the retractable glass roof — built for Berlin and Potsdam, now bound for the Danube: we are currently converting her to electric propulsion.
We built Wassertaxi 3 in 2013 as hull number 119 — one of several water taxis from Derben for the waters of Berlin and Potsdam, at first in service with Weiße Flotte Potsdam. At 32 metres long and only 5.10 metres wide, she is narrow enough for tight canals and low bridges.
The AquaCabrio roof opens in seconds when the sun comes out and closes just as quickly when it rains. Space for bicycles and an interior for 120 passengers are designed for scheduled services — quick boarding and disembarking at many stops.
Donauschifffahrt Wurm & Noé in Passau has since taken the vessel over. Here in Derben she is currently being converted to pure electric propulsion — after which she will run silently on the Danube, as the SUNliner of the same operator already does.
